5 Questions: Jodie Gilroy

1. What do you like best about your job?

The marketing automation space is one of constant change. With change brings opportunity, and my position allows me to be a constant learner. In addition, since I started in the marketing field, consumer buyer behavior patterns have shifted dramatically. It’s fun to be able to be part of a profession where you need to adapt, shift and grow to meet new customer demands.

2. What are the biggest professional challenges you face, and how does ClickDimensions help you address those challenges?

One of my biggest professional challenges is the perception by some that all marketing technology is created equal. The reality is that there are differences and it’s important to do a proper evaluation to find the “right fit product” as well as finding a platform that will support you beyond the platform features. As a marketing consultant, I really focus on the evaluation of a client’s current and desired future state marketing strategy prior to making a recommendation on the marketing technology that will best fit their needs. In addition, truly having a plan on how you will use the technology to maximize your investment is critical. Having a tool that collects dust isn’t in anyone’s best interest. ClickDimensions offers many features in the platform that help marketers achieve their goals, plus they offer the support of product consultants that can help users maximize their investment.

3. What was your background before landing in your current role?

Prior to entering the consulting world, I worked in a variety of marketing roles in an array of industries including manufacturing, technology and healthcare.

4. If you could learn a new skill in an instant, what would it be?

Power BI and other BI tools. Business intelligence is such an exciting area and very important for companies to make data-driven decisions. We have such an opportunity today with the amount of data available to us to leverage technology to harness and provide real-time information about our customer behavior patterns and then use that data to improve our businesses and consumer communications.

5. If you had your own late-night talk show, who would you invite as your first guest, and why?

Ha! This is a great question, but to be honest, I would never stay up late enough to host a late-night talk show. I am an early riser, so it would have to be a morning program.
