Social media is not only a great way to stay in touch with your audience, but also an effective method for continually improving brand awareness and generating interest from new prospects and customers. Email marketing also has the ability to do the same, but often with a different audience.
So how do you connect your social media audience with your email content? This blog post will cover quick and easy ways to post your emails to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and/or Google+ using ClickDimensions email editors.
First, we will go over the method available for templates created in the Drag and Drop editor. Additionally, there is an alternative approach for Freestyle and Custom HTML templates that is listed later in this post.
When designing an email in the Drag and Drop editor, you can easily add social sharing buttons to your email. Social sharing buttons allow your recipients to quickly and easily share the received email to their social media accounts. However, something you may not know is that you can use these social sharing buttons to post your own emails to your own or your company’s social media accounts, if you have access to manage them.
To do this in the Drag and Drop editor, first add the social sharing buttons to your email template.
Next, make sure you are listed as a recipient on your email send. When you receive the email, click on the icon(s) for the social media account(s) you’d like to share this email to. This action should pull up a screen similar to the one below:
When Tweet or Share is clicked, a link to your email will automatically be populated in the respective social media account. Furthermore, you can easily customize your post and share your content.
You should note that this link is quite lengthy, and it is branded with web.clickdimensions.com. To combat this, you can shorten your URL with sites such as bit.ly or goo.gl. Doing so will make for a more enjoyable and easy-to-read social media post.
Social sharing buttons can also be used on a template created with the Block editor, so this option is still available to you if you prefer working in this editor.
You can easily copy and paste the content of your email into a Freestyle landing page, where you can then remove any dynamic content or irrelevant content, and embed your page as a link or custom URL. Simply paste this URL into any social media account you would like to use, and your polished email will be ready to post!
Remember, this embed link will be branded with the web content CNAME of the domain record used. Likewise, ensure that you’re using a domain record that is representative of your brand, as you will not want to confuse your social media followers with misleading URL branding.
