5 Questions: Adam Hallbeck

1. What do you like best about your job?

Collaborative solution-building! I really love diving into needs and vision and translating everything to value-adding tools and systems. Sometimes the build and development phases can feel like they’re running on for a while, but it’s really awesome once things start coming together and you get to see the magic happen in real-time.

2. What are the biggest professional challenges you face and how does ClickDimensions help you address those challenges?

Historically, it’s been a challenge to customize and execute a marketing strategy in Dynamics 365 without jumping into some pretty daunting customization and configuration behind the scenes. That is, it was really tough to get a clear picture of a customer journey or to glean real, valuable impression metrics in Dynamics 365 without the use of heavy customization and/or development. With ClickDimensions, though, it’s not only super easy to start using the system immediately, there are a lot of ready-to-use features and tools that paint that picture for you. Getting to see a prospect or existing customer’s path from initial touchpoint all the way through sales and support isn’t just cool, it’s an insane advantage and a huge contributor to data-driven customer strategy.

3. What was your background before landing in your current role?

Believe it or not, recruiting. I fell into it way back when, but it got me to a premier Dynamics 365 partner in 2013 during a very aggressive growth phase. All the while, I was helping customize our internal applicant tracking system (built on Dynamics CRM 2011) and fell in love with the technology. After seeing what some of our consultants were doing in their day-to-day, I thought, “Hey, I can do this!” So, while I was talking with prospective hires and managing a pretty crazy network of channel rock stars, I went and got certified, started learning as much as I could and here I am.

4. What is your favorite way to spend your free time?

First, with friends and family. Outside of Dynamics 365/ClickDimensions professional services, I’m a musician, I love gaming, and you might catch me at a few sci-fi/fantasy conventions here and there. I might also be in full-on cosplay. Yes, I’m a Dynamics 365 geek professionally, and just a geek in my personal life. It’s a thing.

5. If you could learn a new skill in an instant, what would it be?

I would say something about PowerApps, but honestly? Piano.
