Charlotte Hannagan
Senior Membership Database Manager/Data Privacy Officer, Institute of International Finance

1. What do you like best about your job?

I love the challenge of trying to make business processes more efficient and using technology to better inform strategy and growth. I also often enjoy figuring out roadblocks and finding a way around or through them. There is never a dull day!

2. What are the biggest professional challenges you face and how does ClickDimensions help you address those challenges?

People are resistant to change and adopting new technology and workflows. ClickDimensions is very easy to use and our staff has been able to jump right and use the platform. We also love that it sits right in our association management software (Protech, powered by Microsoft Dynamics), so we can see a 360 view of our engagement with our members and targets all in one place.

3. What was your background before landing in your current role?

In another life, I was a research assistant and accountant at an intercultural education and development center. I came to the Institute of International Finance (IIF) 10 years ago as a staff assistant and librarian, and then transitioned to be a database manager in 2014.

4. What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?

I was a swimmer growing up, and thought I’d compete and be a star. That didn’t quite pan out, but I’ve always wanted to be more involved in sports – manage a fitness center perhaps?

5. If you could meet any historical figure, who would you choose and why?

This is a tough one. I’ve always been fascinated by Vincent Van Gogh. I love his style and would love to observe him creating some artwork. He had such a tragic life, and I think would have an interesting viewpoint on the world.
